Little Boy Here!
Published by Lene and Bry Family under on 7/08/2010
Well one week ago I had Kyle Aaron Richmond. He came at 10:38pm weighing 8lbs 7oz and 20 1/2 inches long. He is such a sweet boy, he loves to just look at me and loves to hear me talk to him. I love it. We both had a rough delivery but are healing nicely. Everyone loves him so much. Sariah will just come in and wants to look at him all day. I am so happy she loves him so much, I was a little worried. Kate and Conner also love their little brother. They all want to kiss him and just watch him all day. I have very sweet kids that love each other and I'm so glad.
Here are some cute pictures!

Here is the details of the day of delivery for anyone who likes the messy and gross details. Let me first start by saying on Tuesday the 29th I started having contractions at 1am and they got closer and harder around 5am. I went to Labor and Delivery at 9am with them 3 min. apart. I was in so much pain and they were really close I really thought I was in labor. Well the midwife checked and I was only at a 2. I walked around for an hour to see if I was going to progress and well I didn't. They sent me home, I was still having very hard 3-5 min. apart contractions. I took some very needed pain meds to help me rest and try to get rid of the contractions. It worked kinda. For the next two days I still had contractions every 12-15 min. They were always getting stronger. I just thought I would have my doctor get things started for me on my appointment on the 1st. I had 2 doctor appointments that day, one at the stress test and then to the regular doctor. Well the testing place went fine everything was looking normal so I left and went to the doctors appointment. Since I had been contracting like crazy this week I told her that I didn't want to wait anymore and to see if she could just strip my membrane's (I know gross right). Well she checked to see if I made any progress since I had been having contractions. I was at 4-5 centimeter dilated and 50% effaced. She said I was already in active labor and to go back to labor and delivery I was having the baby today. I was completely shocked. I was walking around feeling good and actually had energy to do stuff and I was at a 4-5. Well I went back to labor and delivery and they got started with patocin right away to get thing started. I got an epidural around 5pm, contraction were painful with the patocin. My doctor came at 9pm broke my water and I was ready to push at 10:15pm. Well that's when things started to go wrong. He was crowning and I was pushing really good but he wasn't coming any further. His heart rate started going down so she proceeded to cut me so he had more room to come. Well that worked his head came right out. Then it really got scary, I was in so much pain something was wrong I knew it, I couldn't breath it was so painful. Well then I hear the doctor call "Code Shoulder" the room got very busy 1 second later. There were so many doctors and nurses to help Kyle when he finally came out. Well I obviously didn't have a clue what was going on. This is what Bryan told me later what happened. After his head came out his shoulders got stuck. The doctor was able to get one arm out but everything else was stuck she had to pull him out. He was very purple and blue. The doctors took him over and started working on him. After about 2 min he finally starting crying, it was so wonderful to hear that. He started to pink up really good. They gave him to me for a little while but he was still not doing great so they took him to the nursery. They finished sowing me up and I rested for a little while. Well when I went to my room I got to see him and they said his right arm got damaged during delivery. He moves his hand and wrist fine but can't move his shoulder or elbow. He will have to have physical therapy for it, but at least he is here and healthy in every other aspect. It turns out that his shoulders were the same size as his head 36 centimeters. I guess that is very rare most babies shoulders are smaller, his not so much. Bryan gave him a blessing a couple of days after we got home. It was beautiful and I know he will get though this. We are both doing much better, like I said he will be going through physical therapy for awhile, but I know he will get through this healed and closer to me. I love my family and wouldn't change it for the world. I get so blessed with every child I have.

Oh Jolene, I'm so sorry about the delivery---but I'm glad you are both safe and sound. He is just so squishy and cute! I'm so happy for you and your family! Heal quickly! [[hugs]]
